About Me

I am Gryffin.  I believe life is an adventure.  It’s our responsibility to explore and make memories with family and friends.

I love food!  I love eating food, I love making food, and I love exploring new things.  I believe food brings the whole family together.  I create fun meals for my friends and family when we’re at home, out visiting, or out enjoying the outdoors.  People are always asking for my recipes, so I decided to share them!

I used to be a store manager for GameStop, and I love playing video games. I play on my PS4 or my PC most, but I have just about every game system. I have a shopping problem… My favorite video games are usually action RPG’s. I like games with stories. I prefer PVE games, and I like local multiplayer co-op best. I used to really suck at shooters. I’m a lot better at them now, so games like Bioshock, Borderlands and Hitman are actually enjoyable. I still don’t like to play pvp with shooters. Super old Halo games, Monkey Balls, and Doom are pretty much the only exceptions. It is hard for me to finish games. I am afraid of finishing the game without doing everything in it 100%, so many games that you have huge crazy weapons to build like Final Fantasy makes it unlikely that I will 100% the game.

I love to read. Terry Pratchett is my favorite author. My favorite fantasy story was introduced to me by a co-worker at a girl scout camp. It is the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. It is about a princess named Cimorene who was out of reasonable options for a princess, so her father sent her to live with a dragon so she could be rescued and go back to ruling her kingdom. Her dragon was named Kazul, who went on to be the King of Dragons (because being queen is a dull job).

I am a Lady in the Society for Creative Anachronism, shortened to the SCA.  The SCA is a medieval reinactment group. We do living history, focusing on the history prior to 1600 A.D. We do archery, heavy fighting, thrown weapons, fencing, equestrian sports, and arts and sciences including sewing, cooking, brewing and bardic competitions. You can read more about the SCA and find your local group at www.sca.org. I have learned so many amazing skills by being involved in this organization, and I’ve started doing a ton of things I never thought I would do in my lifetime.

I am going to write about the things that make my life an adventure.  I hope you can take my experiences and help make your life full.
